Anti-Bcl-2 (Apoptosis Regulator Bcl-2, BCL2)

Suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells. Regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. Appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases. Inhibits caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml detects Bcl-2 in cells and tissues, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 0.4-1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 0.4-1ug/ml in formalin- acetone fixed tissues, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
