Primers

Primers are short oligonucleotides, that serve as starting points for polymerases during DNA synthesis. In molecular biology, primers are mostly used for PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), that allows the amplification of DNA in vitro. Primers can also be used to obtain DNA fragments for cloning experiments or, in the form of qPCR (Quantitative Real-Time PCR), for quantitative detection of nucleic acids.

Primers are short oligonucleotides, that serve as starting points for polymerases during DNA synthesis. In molecular biology, primers are mostly used for PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), that allows the amplification of DNA in vitro.
