PP-2 C alpha/beta is heterodimer located in the mitochondrial matrix. Within the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, PP-2 C alpha/beta serves to catalyze the dephosphorylation and concomitant reactivation of the E1 component's alpha subunit. Mutations occurring in the PDP1 gene are the cause of a disease known as pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency (PDP deficiency), which leads to neurological dysfunction from lactic acidosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: L6 Cell Lysate. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
