Anti-p53 (Tumor Suppressor Protein, Oncogene Protein), clone 5G175

p53 is a tumor suppressor gene expressed in a wide variety of tissue types and is involved in regulating cell growth, replication, and apoptosis. It binds to mdm2, SV40 T antigen and human papilloma virus E6 protein. p53 senses DNA damage and possibly facilitates repair. Mutation involving p53 is found in a wide variety of malignant tumors, including breast, ovarian, bladder, colon, lung, and melanoma. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended dilution: Western Blot: 1:12.5 Use Ab 40ul/ml at RT for 2hours., Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50. No pretreatment is necessary, however staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: MDA-231 cells, Colon carcinomas , Storage and Stability:, May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
