Recognizes mouse Interleukin 17, a 32kD disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two 136aa chains, which belong to the IL-17 family (classified as IL-17A to IL-17F), and signal through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217). IL-17 is produced primarily by activated CD4+ T cells and induces a variety of target cells to secrete inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1beta, IL-6, TNFalpha, IFNgamma and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, as well as synergizing with other inflammatory cytokines and agonists. The role of IL-17 in bone metabolism has become a focus area for studies into Rheumatoid Arthritis, in which levels of IL-17 are significantly increased and may contribute to bone destruction. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 10ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
