Anti-phospho-CREB (Ser133) (cAMP Response Element Binding Protein, CBP), clone 3A30

Transcription factor CREB binds the cyclic AMP response element (CRE) and activates transcription in response to a variety of extracellular signals including neurotransmitters, hormones, membrane depolarization, and growth or neurotrophic factors. Protein kinase A and the calmodulin-dependent protein kinase CaMKII stimulate CREB phosphorylation at Ser133, a key regulatory site controlling transcriptional activity (1,2). Phosphorylation at Ser133 is also mediated by p44/42 MAP kinase, p90RSK, p38 MAP kinase and MSK1 (3-5). CREB appears to play an important role in learning and memory in both flies and mice. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
