Product information "Anti-UV Radiation Resistance-associated Gene Protein (UVRAG, DHTX, p63, VPS38)"
UVRAG is predicted to contain a coiled-coil structure and is likely to be metabolically unstable based on the occurrence of a strong PEST domain. It interacts with Beclin 1, leading to activation of autophagy and thereof inhibition of tumorigenicity of human colon cancer cells. The gene for UVRAG protein is localized on human chromosome 11q13.5 and complements theultraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells. The gene has been extremely well conserved during evolution, implying an important role for this gene product in cell metabolism. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with left-right axis malformation, and mutations in this gene have been associated with colon cancer. The protein is highly expressed in human brain, lung, kidney and liver. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human, mouse and rat heart lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
