Anti-Superoxide Dismutase, Cu,Zn (SOD Cu,Zn)

Superoxide Dismutases (SOD) are found in all aerobic organisms. Their physiological function appears to be to protect cells from free radicals by scavenging superoxide anions. They catalyze the dismutation of superoxide anions to oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. SOD Cu,Zn is a cytosolic enzyme. SOD Cu,Zn is a dimer of two identical subunits (M.W. 16,000). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Gel Diffusion techniques. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
