Product information "Anti-Serum Amyloid A (SAA), clone 3H62"
Serum Amyloid A (SAA) is a low molecular weight acute phase protein of 12-14kD which is produced primarily by the liver in response to IL-1, IL-6, and Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF). During acute events, the rise in the level of SAA in blood exhibits the most intense and rapid increase among all acute phase proteins. SAA reaches a concentration of up to 1mg/ml. In the sera of acutely ill patients. This concentration is 100-1000 times the normal physiologic level. SAA has utility in predicting renal allograft rejections and in assessing the inflammatory status of rheumatoid arthritis and trauma patients. Measurement of SAA has potential as a predictor of the onset of opportunistic infections associated with AIDS and for assessing patient biocompatibility during hemodialysis. SAA is more sensitive than C-reactive protein or a1-acid glycoprotein as an indicator of lung inflammation in cystic fibrosis patients. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA (capture coating): 0.3ug/ml Detects1.1ng/ml of SAA in serum/plasma or 0.6ng/ml of SAA in medium with an assay range of 0 to 80ng/ml. Suggested substrate: TMB., Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug will allow visualization of 100ng/lane of recombinant human SAA., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Matched Pair: Capture: A2275-60D, Detection: A2275-60Q or A2275-60D1 , Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
