Anti-Serotonin (5-Hydroxytryptamine, 5HT)

Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine), MW 176, is a catecholamine , a monoamine neurotransmitter, found in abundance in the central nervous system, platelets, brain and spinal cord as well as secreted by enterochromaffin cells (EC) in the stomach, intestines, appendix and in endocrine cells along the gut and in carcinoid tumors. Platelets and mast cells are rich in serotonin. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot and Immunohistochemistry. , Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
