LKB1 (also STK11 and JBS) is a 55kD member of the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase , family. It is ubiquitously expressed, and considered to be a tumor suppressor. LKB1 is , both nuclear and cytoplasmic, and appears to contribute to cell polarization, G1 cell cycle , arrest and Wnt signaling. It is known to complex with STRAD and CAB39/MO25, and , phosphorylate PTEN plus p53. Human LKB1 is 433 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains , a protein kinase domain (aa 49-309) and a prenylation motif (CysLysGlnGln) over , aa 430-433. There are two potential isoforms of LKB1. One shows a nine aa insertion after , Tyr126, while another shows a 34 aa substitution for aa 371-433. Over aa 242-433, , human and mouse LKB1 are identical in aa sequence. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:164000, Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Ovary lysates, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
