Product information "Anti-Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB subunit gamma (PAF Acetylhydrolase 29kD Subunit,"
Cytosolic PAFAH IB is formed of three subunits, alpha (45kD), beta (30kD) and gamma (29kD). The catalytic activity of PAFAH IB resides in the beta and gamma subunits while the alpha subunit has regulatory activity. Trimer formation is not essential for the catalytic activity. Specifically, PAFAH subunit gamma inactivates platelet-activating factor by removing the acetyl group at the sn-2 position. It plays an important role during the development of the brain. In the adult, it is expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, kidney, thymus, spleen, colon, testis, ovary and peripheral blood leukocytes. In the fetus, highest expression occurs in the brain. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunoflorescence: 25ug/ml, ELISA: Direct or sandwich, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
