Anti-NT-4 Propeptide (Neurotrophin 4, Neurotrophin-4, NT4, Neutrophic Factor 4, NTF4, Neurotrophin 4

NT-4 Propeptide (neurotrophin-4/5) is a 27kD, secreted, glycosylated neuronal polypeptide that belongs to the NGF-b family of neurotrophic factors. It is synthesized as a proform that contains a 9kD, 56aa proregion (aa25-80) and a 130aa mature segment. The mature molecule forms both nondisulfide linked heterodimers (with NGF) and homodimers. It is unclear if 186aa NT-4 Propeptide dimerizes, but this might be anticipated. Proneurotrophins are believed to activate NGFR and sortilin complexes and neurotrophin proregions regulate neurotrophin maturation. Over aa25-80, human NT-4 Propeptide is 89% and 91% aa identical to mouse and canine NT-4 Propeptide, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml, Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
