Product information "Anti-NF-H (Neurofilament heavy polypeptide, Neurofilament triplet H protein, 200kD, NEFH, KIAA0845,"
Neurofilaments contain three intermediate filament proteins: L, M and H, which are involved in the maintenance of the neuronal caliber. NF-H has an important function in mature axons. NF-H is phosphorylated and it is thought that this results in the formation of interfilament cross bridges that are important in the maintenance of axonal caliber. Defects in NF-H are a cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) which is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting upper and lower motor neurons and results in fatal paralysis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
