Product information "Anti-NEFH (Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide, NF-H, 200kD Neurofilament Protein, Neurofilament Triplet"
Neurofilaments make up the main structural elements of axons and dendrites and are found in neurons, peripheral nerves, and sympathetic ganglian cells. Neurofilaments consist of three major subunits with molecular weights of 68kD, 160kD and 200kD. This antibody will help detect the neurofilament 200kD subunit in normal and uncharacterized tissues. Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and functionally maintain neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene encodes the heavy neurofilament protein. This protein is commonly used as a biomarker of neuronal damage and susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) has been associated with mutations in this gene. , Applications:, Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000, Immunohistochemistry: 1:200-1:1000, ELISA: 1:10000 proposed , Storage and Stability:, May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
