Anti-Natriuretic Peptide, C-Type (CNP)

C-Type Natriuretic Peptide (CNP) belongs to the natriuretic peptide family and functions in an autocrine or paracrine fashion. CNP interacts with the GC-B/NPR-B receptor to promote vasorelaxation, vascular remodeling, and the growth and differentiation of bone and neural tissue. CNP is synthesized as a prohormone that is cleaved intracellularly by furin, yielding a 49aa propeptide and a 53aa mature peptide. Additional cleavage of the mature peptide generates 29aa and 22aa peptides which have comparable activity in some assays. Within the 53aa mature CNP, human shares 96% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using recombinant human CNP., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
