Anti-Myosin IIA, Non-muscle (Cellular Myosin Heavy Chain Type A, DFNA17, EPSTS, FTNS, MGC104539, MHA

Myosin heavy chain type A is a critical component of the cellular contractile apparatus. It is involved in maintaining cell-cell adhesion in early mammalian embryos and ablation of this protein leads to prenatal lethality. Mutation in the human MYH9 gene lead to MYH9-related hereditary macrothrombocytopenia (HMTC) characterized by a reduced number of blood platelets. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:50-1:100, Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. Detects a band at ~200kD. Staining of myosin IIA (nonmuscle) is inhibited by the immunizing peptide. Additional bands may be detected in some preparations. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: MDCK or Jurkat whole cell extract (Western Blot). NRK cells (Immunofluorescence). Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
