Anti-Musashi-2 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Clone RM422)

Musashi-2 is an RNA-binding protein that regulates target mRNA stability and translation. It contains two RNA recognition motifs at its N-terminus that each contain two highly conserved core motifs, RNP-1 and RNP-2, and a C-terminal domain that is subject to alternative splicing to produce a short or long isoform of Musashi-2. Musashi-2 is ubiquitously expressed and localizes to the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is involved in the differentiation and self-renewal of stem cells, including embryonic, neural, and hematopoietic stem cells, as well as in the migration and proliferation of keratinocytes. Knockdown of MSI2, the gene encoding Mushashi-2, induces cell cycle arrest at the G1 phase and apoptosis in keratinocytes. Chromosomal translocations leading to the fusion of MSI2 with HOXA9, resulting in expression of Musashi-2-HOXA9 fusion proteins, are associated with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
