MARK2 (EMK1), a MARK type protein kinase, has been implicated in regulating polarity, cell cycle... more
Product information "Anti-MARK2 (MAP/microtubule Affinity-regulating Kinase 2, ELKL Motif Kinase 1, EMK1, EMK-1, PAR1 Hom"
MARK2 (EMK1), a MARK type protein kinase, has been implicated in regulating polarity, cell cycle progression, and microtubule dynamics. Specifically, it is reported to phosphorylate a MAP4-related protein in vitro. EMK(-/-) mice display growth retardation and immune cell dysfunction, and disease development in these animals has suggested that loss of EMK may contribute to autoimmune disease in mammals. At least two protein isoforms in humans have been identified, 691 and 745 amino acids in length, which are characterized by the presence or absence of a 162-bp alternative exon. EMK1 is considered a candidate gene for carcinogenic events originating from 11q13. Phosphorylation of MARK2 on T595 enhances its binding to 14-3-3/Par5 the phosphorylation promotes the dissociation of MRAK2 from the lateral membrane to regulate PAR-1b activity for the membrane domain development. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:500, ELISA: 1:5000, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 10ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
