Product information "Anti-MAP Kinase, p38, beta (MAPK)"
One of the major signaling pathways used by eukaryotic cells to translate extracellular signals into cellular responses is the MAP (mitogen-activated protein) kinase cascade. So far, four MAPK subgroups (ERK, ERK5, JNK and p38) have been identified in humans. p38 beta is closely related to p38. They differ, however, in that p38 is equally well activated by MKK (MAP kinase kinase) 3, MKK4, and MKK6, while p38 beta is preferentially activated by MKK6. p38 beta also shows a strong substrate preference to ATF2 (activating transcription factor 2). Applications: Western blot analysis of MAPK11 in 15 ugs of human brain cell lysate using antibody at 1ug/ml. Observed size: 38 kD, positive control: human brain whole cell lysate. Recommended Dilution: Western blot: 1-3ug/ml , Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. , ,
