Laminin, a major structural glycoprotein of the basement membranes, is an attachment and survival factor for epithelial cells and can also promote the growth of epithelial cells. Laminin plays an important role in both the structural organization of basement membranes and in the anchorage of cells. Antibodies to laminin chains are useful in basic biology studies as well as in pathological studies concerning, for instance, the integrity of the basement membranes in carcinomas. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Does not work in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
