0.5mg/ml if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile DI water. Kallistatin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SERPINA4 gene. It is mapped to 14q32.13. Serpin A4 is a member of the Serpin superfamily of the serine protease inhibitors. Known also as Kallistatin or proteinase inhibitor 4, Serpin A4 has been shown to function as a specific inhibitor of tissue kallikrein and as an inhibitor of angiogenesis and tumor growth. Protein function: Inhibits human amidolytic and kininogenase activities of tissue kallikrein. Inhibition is achieved by formation of an equimolar, heat- and SDS-stable complex between the inhibitor and the enzyme, and generation of a small C-terminal fragment of the inhibitor due to cleavage at the reactive site by tissue kallikrein.
