Integrin B1 also known as integrin VLA-4 beta chain, fibronectin receptor beta chain, and CD29) is a 130kD integrin beta chain containing VWFA-like domains. Five isoforms have been reported (B1A-1D, 1C-2). This Type I membrane protein is a subunit of the heterodimeric receptor for laminin, fibronectin, collagen, fibrinogen, VCAM1, cytotactin, osteopontin, epiligrin, thrombospondin, and vitronectin. Signal transduction through the integrins affects embryogenesis, hemostasis, tissue repair, immune response, and metastatic spread of tumor cells. Integrin B1 can be upregulated by LPS with soluble CD14 and TNF-a, downregulation of integrin B1 by a-melanocyte stimulating hormone and progesterone. Integrin B1 is modified by phosphorylation and glycosylation. Integrin B1 partners with integrin alpha subunits av, and a1 through a1.1. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 10ug/ml requires Hier using Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
