Anti-Interleukin 6 (Interleukin-6, IL-6, IL6, B-cell Hybridoma Growth Factor, Interleukin HP-1)

Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a pluripotent 20-22kD cytokine which plays a role in the pathophysiology of severe infection and regulates the immune response, acute phase reaction and hematopoiesis. IL-6 plays a critical role in B-cell differentiation to plasma cells and is a potent growth factor for plasmacytoma and myeloma. Continuous IL-6 gene expression makes an essential contribution to a multistep oncogenesis of plasma cell neoplasia. IL-6 is a very useful culture supplement for the generation of a high number of antibody-producing hybridomas. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:10, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
