Anti-Interleukin-6 (IL-6), clone 6A579

IL-6 is a pluripotent 20-22kD cytokine which plays a role in the pathophysiology of severe infection and regulates the immune response, acute phase reaction and haematopoiesis. IL-6 plays a critical role in B-cell differentiation to plasma cells and is a potent growth factor for plasmacytoma and myeloma. Continuous IL-6 gene expression makes an essential contribution to a multistep oncogenesis of plasma cell neoplasia. IL-6 is a very useful culture supplement for the generation of a high number of antibody-producing hybridomas. Applications: Suitable for use in Functional Studies, ELISA, Neutralization, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: Use as a coating antibody., Immunohistochemistry: Frozen and Paraffin, Neutralization: Dilutions have to be made according to the amount of IL-6 to be inactivated. Before use, I8428-16F must be filter sterilized and depending on the concentration to be used dialyzed against culture medium to remove the sodium azide added. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
