IL-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, nerve cells differentiation in hepatocytes, and acute phase reactants. , Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Neutralization Assays. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections. The epitope recognized is sensitive to formaldehyde fixation amd tissue processing. Using acetone fixation is recommended., Neutralizing Assay: 20pg neutralizes activity of 1U of IL-6. Note: Removal of azide is required., Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.
