Anti-Interleukin-13 (IL-13), clone 5K127

IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced mainly by T helper 2 cells, but also by mast cells and NK cells. IL-13 is a unique cytokine having structural features and functional characteristics with IL-4. However, it only shares about 30% homology with the IL-4 sequence. IL-13 inhibits IL-1 beta, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha resulting in anti-in?ammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages. It also induces B cells to proliferate and isotype-switch to the production of IgE. In addition, IL-13 modulates TH2 cell development interfering key roles in the ostracizing of gastrointestinal parasites and in the evolvement of asthma and allergy. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-5ug/ml. Detection limit of <100ng/lane (under reducing conditions and in conjunction with IgG (AP) Gt x Rat), Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
