Anti-Interleukin-13 (IL-13), clone 1.B2.1

IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced mainly by T helper 2 cells, but also by mast cells and NK cells. IL-13 is a unique cytokine having structural features and functional characteristics with IL-4. However, it only shares about 30% homology with the IL-4 sequence. IL-13 inhibits IL-1 beta, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha resulting in anti-in?ammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages. It also induces B cells to proliferate and isotype-switch to the production of IgE. In addition, IL-13 modulates TH2 cell development interfering key roles in the ostracizing of gastrointestinal parasites and in the evolvement of asthma and allergy. Applications: Suitable for use in Neutralizing, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 5ug/ml. Detects 100ng of human IL-13, Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections, Note: Further dilutions should be made in in medium or buffered solutions with a carrier protein such as 1% BSA., Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Hybridoma: Rat spleen cells fused with P3X63-AG8.653 myeloma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
