Anti-Interleukin 12 beta (IL12B, CLMF, CLMF2, CLMF p40, Cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor 40kD

IL-12 is a heterodimer composed of subunits IL-12A p35 and IL-12B p40. Autocrine IL-12 is responsible for the differentiation of naive CD4+T cells into type 1 helper T cells (Th1) that produce interferon-_ (IFN-_). Expression of STAT 4, a signal transduction molecule important in cytokine-induced gene expression, appears central to IL-12 induced Th1 production of IFN-_. It also activates production of tumor necrosis factor _ (TNF_) from T and natural killer cells. IL-12 induces autoimmune inflammation and thus may be responsible for autoimmune inflammatory diseases and may be important for tumorigenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-2000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human IL-12 protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
