CD121a is the 80kD type I interleukin-1 receptor. CD121a is weakly expressed on most cells and tissues including T lymphocytes, thymocytes, epithelial cells and dendritic cells, with stronger expression reported on fibroblasts. The ligands for CD121a are the interleukin-1 (IL-1) family members, IL-1 alpha, IL-1 beta and IL-1 receptor antagonist. IL-1 is a mediator of inflammation and can elicit a variety of other biological responses through binding to CD121a. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:25-1:100, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Armenian hamsters. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
