Product information "Anti-Insulysin (IDE, insulin-degrading enzyme, FLJ35968, Insulinase, Insulin-degrading Enzyme, Insul"
Insulysin, a wide expressed protein, is responsible for the degradation of insulin in cells. Primarily located in the cytosol, insulysin has been isolated from many different tissues and cell lines, and can degrade intact insulin, insulin B-chain, glucagon, denatured hemoglobin, alpha-amyloid protein, TGF-alpha and amylin. Recent work implicates insulysin in clearing beta amyloid plaques from the brain, and has generated much interest in Alzheimer's disease research. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:32,000, Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Lysates of cell line K562, Control Peptide: I8601-02A-P, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 monthsat -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
