Anti-Histone H2A.X (H2A Histone Family Member X, H2A.FX, H2A/X, H2AFX, H2AX)

H2A.X is involved in DNA repair and the maintenance of genomic stability, although its precise role is still to be defined. H2AX is phosphorylated soon after the appearance of double-stranded breaks and has been implicated both in homologous recombination and nonhomologous end joining DNA repair pathways. H2AX is thought to have a critical function in the recruitment of DNA repair factors and DNA damage-signaling proteins. Hyperphoshorylation of H2AX may be linked to chromatin fragmentation prior to apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:200, Western Blot: 1:500-1:1,000, Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
