Product information "Anti-Histone 3"
In diploid eucaryotic cells, the chromatin fibers are about 20nM in diameter. They consist of two major components in equal amounts, DNA and the basic proteins called histones. Histones are believed to be regularly arranged in the deep grove of the DNA helix. The recurring positive charges of the histones form electrostatic associations with the negatively charged phosphate groups of DNA making the DNA more stable and flexible. This allows for the supercoiling of the chromatin fibers. Histone-III is moderately rich in arginine and contains cysteine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 2.5-10.0ug/mL, Western Blot: Relative MW 15.3kD, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
