Product information "Anti-Glutathione S Transferase, pi (GSTP1, GSTpi1, GST3, DFN7)"
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a family of enzymes that play an important role in detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of many hydrophobic and electrophilic compounds with reduced glutathione. Based on their biochemical, immunologic, and structural properties, the soluble GSTs are categorized into 4 main classes: alpha, mu, pi, and theta. This GST family member is a polymorphic gene encoding active, functionally different GSTP1 variant proteins that are thought to function in xenobiotic metabolism and play a role in susceptibility to cancer, and other dise. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. , Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:32,000, Western Blot: 0.01-0.03ug/ml detects ~24kD band observed in Human Kidney, Liver and Lung lysates (calculated MW of 23.4kD according to NP_000843.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing GSTP1 band of approx. 26kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
