Product information "Anti-Glutathione-S-Transferase alpha (GSTa)"
Human glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a large multigene family of isoenzymes, which catalyse the conjugation of glutathione to electrophilic substrates. These enzymes are involved in the detoxification of both endogenous and exogenous electrophiles, which can react with cellular components such as DNA. The modification of DNA by reactive compounds can initiate carcinogenesis and the GSTs are believed to play a role in carcer prevention by inactivating carcinogens. There are four major structural classes of mammalian cytosolic GSTs (alpha, mu, pi and theta). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng/well GST-coated ELISA plates. Actual dilution of antibody will vary depending upon the type of technique used to detect primary antibody such as colorimetric or chemiluminescence substrates. The nature and concentration of GST in may also affect antibody concentration. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
