Anti-Fibroblast Growth Factor Binding Protein (FGFBP, FGF-BP, 17kD Heparin-Binding Growth Factor Bin

FGF-BP, also known as 17kD heparin-binding growth factor binding protein (HBp17) is a secreted, low affinity heparin binding protein. It binds reversibly to FGF-1, -2, -7, -10, and -22 and functions to release the FGFs from the extracellular matrix for interactions with FGF receptors. Human FGF-BP shares 66% amino acid sequence homology with the mouse protein. Applications: Western Blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human FGF-BP. The detection limit for rhFGF-BP is approximately 2 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. In this format, this antibody shows approximately 5% crossreactivity with rrFGF-BP. , Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile TBS with 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
