Anti-Epstein Barr Virus, Early Antigen, p55, p50 (EBV, Human Herpesvirus 4, HHV4)

The Epstein-Barr virus is the causitive agent of infectious mononucleosis and is associated with two human neoplasms, Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Several EBV-related antigens associated with early or late functions of the viral genome have been identified. The early antigen may be virally or chemically induced in EBV infected cells and is the first detectable marker of EBV infection in human cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation., Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: Paraformaldehyde/acetone fixed cell preparations, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Chemically induced Raji cells, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
