Cytochrome C is located in the mitochondria of all aerobic cells and is involved in the electron transport system. Human cytochrome c has 104 amino acid residues and a molecular weight of 11,458 and is mapped to 7p15.2. Cytochrome c released from mitochondria has been proposed to be an essential component of an apoptotic pathway responsive to DNA damage and other forms of cell stress. And it has a role in different apoptotic signaling cascades. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot:1ug/ml , Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 0.5-1ug/ml , Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
