Anti-Cryptosporidium sp. (FITC)

Cryptosporidium is one of several species that cause cryptosporidiosis, a disease affecting the intestines of mammals which is spread through the faecal-oral route. The main symptom is self-limiting diarrhoea in people with intact immune systems. However, in immunocompromised individuals, such as AIDS patients, infection can cause permanent & life-threatening diarrhoea. Cryptosporidiosis is one of the most common waterborne diseases worldwide. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:5-1:50, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
