Product information "Anti-COX 2 (Cyclooxygenase 2, PGHS 2, Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase 2, PHS 2)"
COX2 (Cyclooxygenase 2) is an inducible enzyme. It is involved in the response of cells to growth factors, tumor promoters, and cytokines that induce its expression. Given its role in synthesizing prostaglandins, COX2 is therefore of interest in studying immune response regulation. COX2 is induced by a wide variety of stimuli and was initially identified as immediate early growth response gene. In addition, COX2 expression markedly increased in 85-90% of human colorectal adenocarcinoma whereas COX1 levels remain unchanged. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin):1:50-1:100 for 10 minutes at RT. Boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes is required., Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:1:500, Western Blot: 1:100-1:2000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Lung carcinoma and colon carcinoma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
