CD43 is one of the major glycoproteins of thymocytes and T lymphocytes. It has a high content of sialic acid and O-linked carbohydrate groups. CD43 presents carbohydrate lligands to selectins, plays a role in lectin binding and is a counter receptor for Siglec-1. CD43 is expressed on T lymphocytes in two predominant glycoforms. In its 115kD form it is a pan T cell marker, whereas in its 130kD form it is associated with T cell activation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), Immunoprecipitation, and Westen Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:5-1:10, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
