CD42a cell surface antigen is a 22kD glycoprotein also known as the platelet glycoprotein gp Ib-IX complex. CD42a is expressed by platelets and megakaryocytes. Has been successfully used as a capture reagent for platelet-autoantibody complexes in the sera of patients presenting thrombocytopenia associated with antiphospholipid syndrome (Godeau et al. 1997). Applications: Flow Cytometry: 1:25, Immunohistochemistry: (frozen)- 1:20, Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Flow Cytometry: Use 50ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10e6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: Recommended positive control tissue: Bone marrow. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
