Anti-CD40, FITC conjugated, clone 3H1283

The CD40 antigen is a single chain glycoprotein. It is known to be a member of the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily and shows a significant homology to the Hodgkin's disease-associated antigen, CD30. CD40 is present on all B cells except plasma cells. It is also found on some epithelial cells, carcinomas and lymphoid dendritic cells. CD40 is involved in the process of B cell selection in germinal centers and is vital in T cell-B cell interactions. The precise function of the CD40 antigen is unknown but it appears to be involved in the transduction of regulatory signals for cellular functions such as B cell proliferation and differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Neat. Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Spleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse NS1 myeloma cell line. Recommended Negative Control: I1904-83Y1-IgG2a Negative Control (FITC), Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
