Product information "Anti-CD1a (Langerhans Cells), clone 5G34"
At least five CD1 genes (CD1a, b, c, d, and e) are identified. CD1 is expressed on cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, and dendritic cells. It is absent on mature peripheral blood T cells but intracytoplasmic expression is detected on activated T lymphocytes. CD1 proteins have been demonstrated to restrict T-cell response to nonpeptide lipid and glycolipid antigens and play a role in non-classical antigen presentation. This antibody is useful in the characterization of leukemias and lymphomas. Applications: Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): (Use Ab at 1:15 for 30 min at RT) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: Thymus , Cellular Localization: Cell membrane and cytoplasm, Epitope: External domain , Storage and Stability:, May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
