Anti-C-Reactive Protein (CRP, C-Reactive Protein Pentraxin Related, MGC88244, PTX 1, PTX1)

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a calcium-binding plasma protein which is significantly up-regulated during the acute phase response. CRP has been shown to bind phosphocholine residues, apoptotic cells and constituents of micro-organisms, and can lead to activation of leukocytes and the complement system, and the clearance of apoptotic cells., CRP is produced in the liver in response to interleukin-1 (IL-1) and IL-6 secretion, and has a monomer molar mass of 25kDa, and native cyclic pentamer mass of 125kDa. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen sections, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
