Anti-BDNF (Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor, Abrineurin)

Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a member of the neurotrophin family of growth factors that includes NGF, NT3, and NT4. BDNF is a prosurvival factor induced by cortical neurons that is necessary for survival of striatal neurons in the brain.BDNF is expressed within peripheral ganglia and is not restricted to neuronal target fields. BDNF has been purified and shown to reduce the amount of naturally occurring neuronal cell death in portions of the peripheral nervous system. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
