ATIC (AICAR transformylase/IMP cyclohydrolase) belongs to the purH family, expressed in the cytoplasm, predicted molecular weight approximately 65kD. ATIC catalyzes the penultimate and final steps in the de novo purine nucleotide biosynthesis pathway. ATIC acts as a bifunctional enzyme catalyze the formation of FAICAR and IMP. AICA-ribosiduria is a recently discovered inherited metabolic disease caused by a defect in final steps of purine de novo biosynthesis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 5-10ug/5ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
