Anti-Antithrombin III

Antithrombin III (ATIII) is a plasma protein synthesized in the liver. Normal plasma levels are 115-160mg/L. ATIII consists of a single polypeptide chain and has a molecular weight of 58kD. ATIII is a serine protease inhibitor and through this action regulates blood coagulation. ATIII also has a heparin binding site and in the presence of heparin the inhibition of thrombin, factors IXa, Xa and XIa is enhanced 1000-fold. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 10ug/ml, Western Blot: 10ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
