Anti-Actin, beta

Beta actin is one of six different actin isoforms which have been identified. Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in cell motility, structure and integrity. Because beta-actin is ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells, it is frequently used as a loading control for assays involving protein detection, such as Western blotting. Antibodies to beta-actin provide a specific and useful tool in studying the intracellular distribution of beta-actin and the static and dynamic aspects of the cytoskeleton. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunoprecipitation and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100-1:2000. Can be blocked with beta Actin peptide (aa2-15). At higher concentrations, other bands can be detected. Note: May be used as a cell extract loading control., Immunofluorescence: 1:50., Immunohistochemistry: 1:100, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:100 Requires HIER with sodium citrate buffer pH6.0, Immunoprecipitation: 1:10-1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: HeLa whole cell lysate and 3T3 cells (mouse). These were negative when used in Immunocytochemistry. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer., Note: We do not recommended adding glycerol as a cryopreservative.
