Protein function: Catalyzes the synthesis of acetyl-CoA from short-chain fatty acids (PubMed:28003429). Propionate is the preferred substrate (PubMed:28003429). Can utilize acetate and butyrate with a much lower affinity. [The UniProt Consortium] Buffer: 40% glycerol and PBS (pH 7.2). 0.02% sodium azide is added as preservative. Highest antigen sequence identity to mouse: 85% and to rat: 88%
